Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to a report claiming that striker Troy Parrott has agreed a new contract at the club.

The young forward has played twice for the club at senior level, playing five minutes against Burnley in the Premier League, while also starting the penalty shootout defeat to Colchester United in the EFL Cup under Mauricio Pochettino.

Football Insider claims that Spurs have agreed to the terms of a new deal for the teenager, who turned 18 on Tuesday.

Parrott is poised to put pen to paper on a contract until 2023 and a number of fans are delighted at the prospect of the forward committing his future to the club.

Spurs are currently operating without a central striker, with Harry Kane out with a hamstring injury.

And a number of other supporters believe that this news is evidence that he should be playing regularly under Mourinho.

Parrott, indeed, has been prolific at youth level, scoring a total of 30 goals and providing six assists in 36 games, across U18, UEFA U19, and U23 level.

Spurs face Southampton in the FA Cup on Wednesday and it remains to be seen if Parrott will be involved in the encounter.
