Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan has told Football Insider that he believes Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa was at Valley Parade on Sunday to hold face-to-face talks with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp over a potential move for winger Ryan Kent.
What’s the word, then?
Well, the Argentine was spotted at Bradford City’s stadium at the weekend despite some members of his squad travelling to Australia as part of the club’s pre-season tour down under, and Whelan claims that he was there on a transfer mission.
The 44-year-old told Football Insider: “Bielsa was probably at Bradford looking at Ryan Kent. There’s no reason for him to go there rather than Australia unless it was beneficial for him.
“Ryan Kent has been spoken about before. I think Bielsa has met with Jurgen Klopp after the game. If there is interest and conversations going on it, it is worth talking with his manager.”
Good move by Leeds?
It would certainly be an intriguing one.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported earlier in the summer that they were keen on the former Rangers loanee as they looked to bring three wingers to Elland Road during the summer transfer window.
However, they have since done that with Jack Harrison coming back following his own temporary spell with the Whites, Helder Costa arriving from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Jack Clarke making an immediate return on loan following his permanent move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Considering Bielsa now has that aforementioned trio plus Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez who can play out wide, it would seem like potential overkill if Kent signed as well.
However, a potential deal may be an indication that the Argentine simply isn’t willing to leave anything to chance in his bid to get Leeds over the promotion line at the end of the season, after they eventually came up short in his debut campaign in England.

The Yorkshire club had the worst chance-conversion rate of anyone in the Championship in 2018/19, and securing Kent – who scored six goals and provided a further nine assists for the Glasgow giants last term – should further boost his team in the final third.
